IT Support for MSMEs

Most IT providers sell small businesses the same stack they sell a bank. You end up paying for capacity you will never use while the thing you actually needed, a working backup and a printer that prints, goes unfixed. We size to your headcount and your cash flow, then grow the setup as you do.

Small business owner and staff working in a Philippine shop or office

These engagements work anywhere. We support MSMEs operating in the Philippines day to day, and remote-first small teams selling into overseas markets on the same terms.

What goes wrong

Where it usually hurts

  1. 01

The owner is also the IT department

A receipt printer dies on a Saturday and the whole team waits until someone remembers a nephew who does computers.

  2. 02

    Backups that were never tested

Files are copied to an external drive that lives beside the machine it backs up. Both are lost to the same fire, flood, or ransomware event.

  3. 03

    Licences nobody audited

Three staff left, six Microsoft 365 seats are still being billed, and nobody noticed because the card is on auto-debit.

  4. 04

    Growth breaks the shortcuts

The shared folder and the office WiFi that worked at eight people stops working at twenty. Nobody planned the upgrade because nobody knew it was coming.

  5. 05

    One person holds every password

If that person is unreachable, so is the accounting system, the BIR filings, and the company email.

What we do about it

The work that answers each one

  1. 01

    Audit what you already own

Before selling anything we inventory your devices, licences and subscriptions, then tell you what to cancel. The first deliverable is usually a saving.

  2. 02

    Fix backup and prove it

Automated backup with a restore test you can watch. A backup that has never been restored is a hope, not a plan.

  3. 03

    Standardise the essentials

Business email that is not a free consumer mailbox, file storage with proper sharing, and MFA on the accounts that matter.

  4. 04

Remove the single point of failure

Shared admin credentials in a managed vault, so the business does not stop when one person is on leave.

  5. 05

Plan the next two steps, not ten

A written roadmap with what to do now, what to do at your next growth step, and what to ignore until then.

  6. 06

Stay available for the small stuff

Printer, email, POS, the laptop that will not boot. Small problems are the job, not a distraction from it.

What you answer to

Paperwork you already deal with

We are not your accountant and not your lawyer. What we do is make sure the systems those people rely on are in order, so a filing or an inspection is not blocked by a technical problem.

  • BIR registration and filings

Your registered address, books, and filing calendar live somewhere. We keep the machines that hold those records backed up and reachable, and we can set the reminders so a deadline is never missed because a laptop died.

  • Mayor’s permit and DTI or SEC registration

Renewal season means scanned documents moving between people. We set up storage with permissions so the right person can find the file at 11pm.

  • Data Privacy Act

If you keep customer data, you have obligations under RA 10173. For most MSMEs the practical work is know what you hold, restrict who can reach it, and have a plan if it leaks.

  • Employee records

Payroll and 201 files are personal data. We help you stop them living on a shared drive that every employee can open.

A real pattern

What a bad week looks like

A twelve-person trading company in Laguna. The owner handles IT between sales calls. A shared folder on the receptionist’s PC is where everything lives, and an external drive beside it is the backup.

A staff member opens an invoice attachment on a Thursday and the file server starts encrypting itself.

The external backup drive is connected at the time. It is encrypted too.

The BIR filing is due in nine days. The records are gone.

Nobody knows if the accounting software was cloud or local. It was local.

What it costs

Nothing here is exotic. It is the same three mistakes in different orders: single copy, no isolation, no tested restore. The fix is unglamorous and cheap at this size, but it has to exist before the Thursday.

How it runs

From first call to steady state

  1. 01

    Walk-through

We visit or call and look at what you actually have

Usually 60 to 90 minutes. No sales deck, no discovery workshop.
  2. 02

    Written findings

A short document of risks, ranked

Plain language, with costs where we can estimate them and a clear ‘do this first’.
  3. 03

    Fix the urgent

Backup, email, access, and the thing that keeps breaking

Scoped so the first month’s work is the work that actually reduces risk.
  4. 04

    Ongoing retainer

Support and monitoring at a monthly figure you agreed

Reviewed each year against headcount so it does not silently drift.

Questions we get asked

Straight answers

We are only eight people. Are we too small?

No. Eight people with customer data and a BIR deadline have the same core risks as eighty. The difference is scale, and at eight people the fix is quick. What we avoid is selling you enterprise tooling to solve an eight-person problem.

Can you work with our existing provider?

Yes, and we often do. Plenty of providers handle one piece well, such as the accounting software or the POS. We take the rest and coordinate rather than forcing a rip-and-replace.

What does it cost?

It depends on headcount, how many sites, and how much is currently unmanaged. We give a fixed monthly figure after the walk-through, in writing, before you commit to anything.

Do we have to move everything to the cloud?

No. Some things suit the cloud and some are better local, and at MSME scale a mix is usually right. We will tell you which is which instead of defaulting to one.
