    Engineers here own outcomes. If you solve the cause rather than the symptom, that is recognised.

    Some environments we inherit are genuinely rough. Fixing them is the job, and the first month can be unglamorous.

  • Some work happens outside business hours.

    Migrations and cutovers are scheduled for weekends and evenings because that is when the business can tolerate downtime, not because we enjoy it.

  • You will document what you build.

    Non-negotiable. An undocumented fix is a future incident with your name on it.

  • You will sometimes tell a client no.

    If a request is the wrong solution, saying so is part of the role. We would rather be honest and lose the work than agree and deliver something that fails.

    We hire for judgement and then use it. If you need every decision approved upward, this is not the right place.
